The Developer's Story: Governors Club Limited Partnership

The development team of Governors Club was comprised of experienced and seasoned real estate and country club executives who had been involved in four major residential developments and numerous subdivisions.

Beginning in 1987, the development team, consisting of the late Truby G. Proctor, Jr., Kirk J. Bradley, and William J. Brinn, Jr., embraced the vision of Governors Club. They knew the rolling terrain was ideal for a 24-hour gated primary home residential community and the mountainside would provide homesites with panoramic views in all directions. Over many months, they acquired 33 parcels of this land totaling approximately 1,600 acres.

Through their incredible vision and keen foresight, this development team created a community unlike any other. Governors Club now enjoys recognition as one of the premiere residential golf course communities in the Southeast.
